There Are No Bad Ideas. I Guarantee It!

| August 30, 2014

What happens if I come up with what I think is a good idea and it fails? This fear of failure keeps many from actively thinking for fear they may actually get an idea, act on it and it fails. First understand that ideas rarely fail to the point where nothing is gained. Most ideas I have found pay dividends later on as another idea. Basically even failed attempts at  an idea tend to be a building block for a future idea which never would have succeeded without the knowledge gained from the previous failure. Most of us are aware the Edison failed more than 10,000 times before his light bulb idea succeeded.

When an idea does not succeed like you had hoped mine through the experience for a diamond. Ask yourself some questions like:

1. Did I (we) have the needed resources to succeed  (time, capital, expertise)?

2.Was our timing right?

3. Did I flush the idea out prior to acting on it (see if it was a good idea to start with)?

4. What one thing could would I do differently and why?

Now you can see there are no bad ideas!
